What is a Brain Map?

A MindFirst Brain Map is an inferred, receptor-level profile of your brain, constructed from your own treatment history. It is not a scan, not a gene test, and not an algorithm that prescribes: it is a systematic reading of the experiments your treatment has already run, interpreted by a physician.

How it works

Every medication you have taken engaged a characteristic set of receptors — serotonergic, dopaminergic, noradrenergic, histaminergic, and others — with known affinities. Your responses to those medications constrain which of your receptor systems are driving symptoms. The Brain Map software assembles those constraints across your entire history, weighs them against a curated pharmacology evidence base, and produces ranked, evidence-cited treatment considerations for your psychiatrist.

What it is not

It does not replace clinical judgment; it informs it. It does not promise outcomes; it improves the reasoning behind each next choice. It is used only within a treating relationship at this practice, and every output is reviewed with you in session.

Where it fits in care

The Brain Map is generated as part of the Foundation Evaluation — the 90-minute first appointment — and updated as treatment proceeds. Alongside it, MindFirst Sleep reads months of wearable data to show what medications do to your nights, and MindFirst Neuropsychology measures cognition across seven domains from your own home.
